Who are we?

Campout 2026

Snohomish Evangelical Free Church (SEFC) is a member church of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA,) which is part of the wider Free Church movement.

The word Evangelical has taken on a bit of a sour meaning in recent years, but we cleave to the original meaning of the word: Scripture focused. We are dedicated to understanding and following Scripture that we may better follow Jesus Christ.

The Free Church movement was born from the Protestant Reformation, from Christian Churches in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Members of these individual churches recognized the need for freedom from whatever government may be in power, and formed various Free Churches. The EFCA was formed when members of these congregations eventually made their way to the United States, officially forming in 1950. Given our Free Church roots and a desire to focus on God’s Kingdom, we refrain from association with any singular political group, party, or machine.

If you want to join us in person, services are on Sundays from 10:30am-12:00pm (approximately.) Our nursery is open for children aged 0-5, and Junior Church (Sunday School) is available for students aged 6-12. Teenage services (Overflow Sunday) are temporarily suspended due to lack of staff.

If you are uncomfortable coming in person, but still want to join us, we stream most services on our Facebook, and keep a running log of sermons on our YouTube channel. Feel free to browse through our social medias.
